IndyCar 2027 schedule: 17 races, phased announcement

Penske Corporation President Bud Denker confirmed to RACER on July 23, 2026 that the 2027 NTT IndyCar Series calendar will contain 17 races, reverting from the current 18-race schedule. A phased approach to the calendar release is planned, with several events still awaiting contract signatures. Confirmed venues already include St. Petersburg (March 5-7), Arlington, Detroit, and both Indianapolis events. Richmond, Virginia, which had been discussed as a potential IndyCar return, will not appear on the 2027 calendar.
