IndyCar targets international championship rounds
IndyCar · statement · 2026-07-26
RACER reported on July 24 that IndyCar, backed by Fox Corporation's ownership interest in Penske Entertainment, is actively exploring a return to international competition. Penske Entertainment CEO Mark Miles stated that any international venues will be full championship rounds, not non-championship events. A road race could potentially join the 2027 calendar, though 2028 is considered the more realistic target for street circuit options. Countries under discussion include Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Japan and Spain.
