Max Verstappen personally confirmed ahead of the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix that Tom Hart will succeed Gianpiero Lambiase as his race engineer at Red Bull. Lambiase is departing Red Bull at the end of the 2026 season to join McLaren in a senior role. Hart, a Briton, had previously served as Verstappen's performance engineer and was most recently responsible for both Verstappen and teammate Isack Hadjar. Red Bull confirmed the appointment to multiple outlets, with Hart having already gained race-engineer experience during a filming day for Hadjar ahead of Silverstone.
