Lundgaard, Malukas hit with 9-place Nashville engine penalties

IndyCar Officiating issued nine-position starting grid penalties to the No. 7 Arrow McLaren (Christian Lundgaard) and No. 12 Team Penske (David Malukas) entries ahead of the July 20 Nashville race, citing violations of Rule 16.1.2.3.2 for unapproved engine changes following a team test at Milwaukee Mile on July 8. Lundgaard started 24th and Malukas started 25th (last) after also missing qualifying due to a practice crash that required a hospital visit. In the race, Palou won, Malukas recovered from last to third (leading 59 laps), and Palou extended his championship lead to 83 points.
