Hamilton issues public apology to Ferrari

On 25 August 2026, Lewis Hamilton issued a public statement apologising for his radio outbursts and post-race media comments directed at Ferrari during the Dutch Grand Prix. Hamilton had repeatedly criticised the team over team radio for not ordering Charles Leclerc to pit and make way, at one point sarcastically telling the pit wall it was 'a great way of wasting time.' Racefans reported that Leclerc was twice told to pit on the same lap and refused both instructions. Hamilton, who finished fourth rather than challenging for the podium, said on reflection that his comments were 'not the best version of me' and added: 'I take responsibility for that, and I'll be better.'
